What is really needed is an extension that is retro-active and continues until such time as the TRUE unemployment is below 5%. Based on what Bernanke has stated that high unemployment may last another 5 years
The unemployed do NOT have 5 years to wait !

As a 99r whose been without income since last April and who's currently going through foreclosure on my home, WTF is 14 weeks going to do to help? Easy for the republican party to push us aside like we're a lazy national embarrassment and pretend we don't exist. Easy for Obama and the rest of the Dems to cave instead of fighting, that might actually take some moral courage afterall. Not so easy for the 6 million (and growing) 99rs to carry on. This bill will go no further than Michigans own Debbie Stabenows "Americans Want To Work" bill did. This bill too would have added another tier. The republicans never even let it come up.

If you want the whole truth, two more 26 week tiers are need, tier 5 and tier 6 that are retroactive. What is really needed is a 52 week extension of unemployment insurance benefits past the current 99 week max.

An addition 40 weeks of retroactive benefits are needed or this economy will collapse and their will be more foreclosures and realestate prices will drop further.

If that bill passed ,the 99ers will get only 14 weeks. But most of us were without any help for more than 40 weeks,so I guess 14 weeks ain't going to be enough to help pay our bills and other dues.So what is going to happens after the 14 weeks are over and no one get any job?
